First Long Weekend in the New Bus - May/09

We decided to spend the long weekend in a place that is easily accessible to our family and friends from Ottawa. So, we picked a campground in Greely, ON - it's just south of the city on Hwy 31. When researching campgrounds in the Ottawa area, I was surprised to discover there aren't that many from which to select. Alas, this location seemed to be a good one. And since we were in Greely the weekend before (by car) for another event, we did a 'drive by' - all seemed to be in good order so we booked our campsite.

Johnnie was able to leave early from work on Friday so we arrived around 2 pm. With the new bus, it's taking us a bit longer to get set up - it's a new routine for us with slide-outs! Once we got settled, we noted the camp site is the exact length of the bus - our tail pipe hung out on one end of the site and our front mirrors hung over the other end. Anyway, we made it 'in' and all was good.

Bonnie, John's daughter joined us for dinner Friday with Bella, her 7 month-old Pug puppy! Then, sometime during the night, it started to rain and it was gray and rainy all day Saturday. Our friend Larry dropped in for the afternoon and topped off his arrival by bringing me a large Cafe Mocha from Tim's (mega thanx)! We also had a visit from Billie and Susan who joined us for our bonfire. And, on Sunday, Brian and Michelle, John's son and his wife, brought the two grandkids, Kylen and Tyson. Luckily for all of us, the weather turned sunnier and we were able to enjoy a few things outside. And even luckier, the park has a nice, warm indoor pool so a good hour was spent there with the kids. It's hard to get a picture of them - they're always 'on the move' - but I did manage to catch this one of Tyson:

Monday mid-morning, we headed home and returned the RV to it's resting spot beside the garage. And whaddayaknow, there was just enough time for me to head out and play golf with my golfing girl-pals for our 2:46 pm tee-off! Can it get any better? I don't think so... m.
