Wake up Little RV, Wake Up!

Can you believe it's already mid-October? After snoozing next to the garage for the summer months, John took the RV for her annual 'check-up'. She returned this week and I've started loading her up with stores and provisions for the coming winter. Our plan is to leave for Texas on November 15/08 and take 2 weeks to get to South Padre Island - the southern most point in Texas on the Gulf Coast near Brownsville, right at the border. We expect to be in South Padre thru the holiday season, then north to San Antonio for a few weeks and back to Florida for February and March.

We've had a great summer. The RV managed to escape the yard on several occasions with the best being a family event at the Hamre cottages at the Big Rideau in August. RVing always adds new dimensions to our life experiences and the memories from that weekend will be embossed in our minds forever! Here's a picture of the Grant/Hamre boys doing what they do best - having fun together - and yes, that's a full rack of BBQ ribs and the Margaritaville mixer is next to the BBQ!

John's work in the HVAC business and my position as Grant's Property Manager will slow down when we depart in November. I'd like to add that the pay is pretty poor as Property Manager but the work (lawn care, gardening, executive assistant, travel agent) has been a true labour of love for me! And my new boss - John Grant - well, he's not been all that bad to work for...

Alas, we have 3 short weeks left before we leave and these too shall fly past. Raking lawns, pulling boats, getting the house ready for our house-sitter - lots to do so I'd better get out there and get at it! It's a gorgeous day again today - enjoy it wherever you are.

We trust your summer was also a good one - catch up with us again in about a month when, weather permitting, we'll be on the move... m.
