One Week Away...

Sooooo exciting! We are both finishing up in our work world and, with only 5 work days left, there still seems to be lots to clean up at the office. I was in Halifax earlier this week for work and was able to connect with my long-time friend Nancy and her daughter Karen's family. It was (almost) Karen's birthday so we celebrated with Mike's EXCELLENT chicken fajitas! Jer and Emi are working their way to being teens!

This weekend will be about getting the house organized for our absence and the arrival of our house-sitter on Tuesday. John's daughter Bonnie and partner Yvon are planning an overnight visit on Saturday so we are looking forward to that. Bonnie wil be joining us in Tampa in April for a week.

We are keeping a close eye on the weather patterns coming in from the mid-west. As long as the states of NY and Pennsylvania can stay clear for a 2-3 day window, we shall 'leave the home port'. Johnnie starts the bus each day - just to be sure!

New Years Day 2008

It's mid afternoon on January 1st. Enjoyed our evening last night - fondue for the first time in a long, long time! Our friends Dan and Anne and Bill and Susan joined us and stayed overnight. The snow started late last night. Earlier today, it took us an hour to do the driveway - me with the shovel and Johnnie with the snowblower. The fresh air was great though. Alas, this is a pic of our deck. You too can enjoy snow like this be living in beautiful Kingston, Ontario!
